Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stated on Monday that the large turnouts at recent pro-government rallies serve as a clear “warning” to the United States.
The state-organized rallies were held following two weeks of anti-government protests. According to Iranian state television, Khamenei praised the public’s participation as a decisive response to foreign pressures.
“This was a warning to American politicians to stop their deceit and not rely on treacherous mercenaries,” Khamenei said. His comments follow threats from the U.S. administration of potential military intervention.
He added, “These massive rallies, full of determination, have thwarted the plan of foreign enemies that were supposed to be carried out by domestic mercenaries.”
