US President Donald Trump on Tuesday voiced his support for Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa amidst a military offensive against Kurdish forces, who were previously allied with the United States.
Speaking to journalists at the White House, Trump described the Syrian leader as a “strong guy, tough guy” who is “working very, very hard.”
“Pretty rough resume. But you’re not gonna put a choir boy in there and get the job done,” Trump stated, defending al-Sharaa’s leadership in the ongoing situation.
