Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen has refuted claims regarding Chinese military and economic activities in Greenland, stating there are no Chinese warships operating in its waters or significant investments in the territory.
His comments, made to the Danish press on Wednesday following meetings with US officials in Washington, directly counter assertions made by the United States.
The US administration has previously claimed, without providing evidence, that China and Russia are attempting to establish control over Greenland, using this as a justification for suggesting a US takeover of the island.
