The British government announced on Wednesday that it has temporarily closed its embassy in Tehran, the capital of Iran.
A spokesperson for the government in London confirmed the development, stating, “We have temporarily closed the British Embassy in Tehran, this will now operate remotely.”
In line with this change in consular services, the UK Foreign Office has also updated its official travel advisory for Iran.
