Pope Leo XIV called on religious leaders to work for peace and combat intolerance and violence on Monday at an interreligious meeting during his visit to Lebanon.

“You are called to be builders of peace: to confront intolerance, overcome violence and banish exclusion, illuminating the path toward justice and concord for all, through the witness of your faith,” he told the gathering of 16 Christian and Muslim leaders in the deeply divided country.
