Commander-in-chief orders higher security readiness and combat preparedness for Iraqi forces

Higher security readiness and combat preparedness for Iraqi forces were ordered on Thursday by Iraq’s commander-in-chief and Prime Minister Ali Falah Al-Zeidi, in a move aimed at strengthening the ability of security and military formations to carry out their duties and protect stability across the country.

The Security Media Cell said the directive includes training exercises and the movement of units as part of maintaining a high level of preparedness.

Orders to raise readiness levels

In a statement, the Security Media Cell said the commander-in-chief had instructed all security and military forces to raise their security readiness and combat preparedness.

The statement added that the decision is part of a continuous effort to ensure the sustained readiness of all security formations and enhance their ability to perform assigned duties.

Training and unit movement

The measures include:

– Training exercises

– Movement of units

– Improved field preparedness

– Stronger coordination between security formations

Readiness begins at the border strip

The Security Media Cell said the higher state of readiness will begin at the border strip and extend to field operations in all parts of the country.

The discussion took place during a meeting chaired by Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, head of the commander-in-chief’s office, with the participation of senior military and security officials.

Broad security participation

The meeting included:

– Chief of Staff of the Army

– Head of the Counter-Terrorism Service

– Several deputy ministers and security commanders

– Directors-general

– Representatives of the Popular Mobilization Forces

– Provincial operations and police commanders via video link

Iraq must not be used as a launchpad for threats

Participants discussed how to implement the commander-in-chief’s directives and stressed that Iraq must not be allowed to become a launchpad for any internal or external threat against any state.

The cell said the purpose of the higher readiness is to protect national security and reinforce stability nationwide.

The commander-in-chief’s office emphasized:

– The importance of intelligence efforts

– Rapid handling of information

– Unified media messaging

– Countering rumors

– Strict adherence to instructions
