Iran attacks Israel and multiple US bases across the Gulf region according to official statements issued in Tehran on Tuesday. The escalation comes during continued regional tension after earlier American and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.
Iran said its army and the Revolutionary Guard Corps launched drone and missile operations that targeted sites in Israel along with US facilities in Qatar and Bahrain.

Iran announces strikes on Israel and Al Udeid base in Qatar

The Iranian army said its ground, air, and naval units deployed what it described as destructive combat drones aimed at military sites belonging to Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories. The announcement was carried by the Iranian newspaper Shargh.
The same statement said Iranian forces also targeted American installations at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar which hosts US Central Command operations in the region. No details were provided on the scale of damage and there was no immediate confirmation from Washington or Doha.

Qatar intercepts ballistic missiles

Qatar’s Ministry of Defence said its air defence systems intercepted two ballistic missiles early Tuesday. Residents in Doha, including AFP reporters, reported hearing loud explosions.
The ministry did not specify the source of the missiles although the announcement came shortly after Iran claimed responsibility for strikes across the Gulf region.

IRGC claims attack on US air base in Bahrain

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said its naval forces carried out a large-scale drone and missile strike at dawn targeting the US air base in the Sheikh Isa region of Bahrain. The statement was released through the Iranian state news agency IRNA.
According to the IRGC, the attack involved 20 drones and three missiles which it claimed destroyed the base’s main command headquarters. The force did not provide visual evidence to support the claim and there was no immediate response from the US military or Bahraini authorities.

Background to the escalation

Tehran said these strikes are part of its response to American and Israeli attacks that began on Saturday and hit multiple locations in Iran. The confrontation has raised concerns across the Gulf region which hosts several strategic US military installations.
Iran’s leadership has repeatedly warned that any military operations on its soil will receive a direct response. Analysts in the region note that Iran’s latest actions mark one of the most extensive cross-border operations carried out by the country in recent years.

Explosions reported in Riyadh

Witnesses in Riyadh told AFP they heard blasts and saw smoke rising from the diplomatic quarter of the Saudi capital early Tuesday. The district hosts multiple foreign embassies and diplomatic residences.
The Saudi Ministry of Defence said two drones hit the US embassy complex causing a fire that was brought under control. No casualties were reported and authorities did not link the attack to any party.

Regional impact and Iraq relevance

The escalation between Iran, Israel, and the United States holds direct implications for Iraq due to shared borders, economic ties, and the presence of multiple armed groups aligned with regional powers.
Analysts warn that continued military exchanges across the Gulf could increase risks for Iraqi airspace, trade routes, and energy markets.

Conclusion:

The situation across the region remains tense as Iran, Israel, and the United States continue exchanging military strikes. Regional governments have raised alert levels while international observers call for de escalation to prevent a wider conflict.
