Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Saturday that now is the best time for a deal, arguing that current conditions inside the country could help push talks forward and open the door to a settlement.
In remarks to reporters, Pezeshkian said Iran currently has “cohesion, strength and unity,” which he said could support continued efforts to resolve disputes through negotiation.

On the other side, US Vice President JD Vance said Iran had told Washington it would allow oil to flow at maximum capacity through the Strait of Hormuz, though he said the US did not trust that pledge until it was proven in practice.
Vance said in comments to reporters that the Iranians “are suffering and want this to be over,” referring to the tensions surrounding the strategic waterway.
US plan for safe passage
Vance added that the United States is working on a plan to ensure safe passage for ships through the Strait of Hormuz, including an Iranian commitment not to fire.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important maritime chokepoints, with large volumes of oil and commercial shipping passing through it, making it a recurring focus of regional tensions.
