A US–Iran peace deal appears closer after President Donald Trump described a recent post by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi as “very positive,” suggesting that an agreement could be signed by the end of the weekend or early next week.

The development comes amid Pakistani mediation efforts and reports that the draft understanding may extend beyond Iran to include Lebanon and other regional actors.

Trump Signals Optimism on Agreement

According to Axios, Trump said he viewed Araghchi’s public remarks about the agreement in a positive light.

He also claimed that Iran had privately apologized for providing misleading information regarding the deal.

Trump added that he still believes the agreement could be signed by the end of the week or on Monday, expressing confidence in the ongoing negotiations.

Pakistan Confirms Final Text Completed

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the final text of the peace agreement between Washington and Tehran has been completed with Pakistani mediation.

Sharif said Pakistan has been working closely with both the United States and Iran to finalize the next steps in the peace arrangement.

He confirmed that the agreed-upon final draft has been reached between the two sides.

US Official: Lebanon Also Included

Agence France-Presse, citing a senior US official, reported that the draft understanding between the United States and Iran to end the war in the Middle East would also include Lebanon.

According to the official, the framework of the agreement covers Lebanon, Iran, Gulf states, and Israel.

The official made the remarks during a phone call with journalists, indicating that the proposed understanding extends beyond bilateral US–Iran arrangements to broader regional dimensions.

Broader Regional Implications

If confirmed, the US–Iran peace deal could reshape regional dynamics by:

– Ending hostilities between Washington and Tehran.

– Addressing the situation in Lebanon.

– Involving Gulf states and Israel in broader arrangements.

– Reducing tensions across multiple fronts in the Middle East.

However, no formal signing has yet been announced, and details of the final text remain undisclosed.

Conclusion:

With Trump expressing optimism, Pakistan confirming the final text, and US officials indicating that Lebanon is included, the US–Iran peace deal appears to be nearing completion. The coming days may determine whether the agreement is formally signed and how it reshapes the regional security landscape.
