US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he has revoked an invitation extended to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to participate in his newly formed “Board of Peace.”
In a statement posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, “Please let this Letter serve to represent that the Board of Peace is withdrawing its invitation to you regarding Canada’s joining.”
The decision follows recent remarks by Prime Minister Carney concerning a “rupture” in the U.S.-led global order. It also comes after the Canadian government confirmed it would not pay a fee to join the self-styled body, which Trump has promoted as an initiative to end global conflicts.
