Former US President Donald Trump stated on Monday that he does not anticipate significant opposition from European leaders regarding his proposal to purchase Greenland.
Speaking to a reporter in Florida, Trump expressed confidence in the eventual acceptance of the plan. When asked how he would address European leaders who oppose the idea, he responded, “I don’t think they’re gonna push back too much. We have to have it. They have to have this done.”
The statement reiterates his long-standing interest in acquiring the autonomous Danish territory, a move that has previously been met with firm rejection from officials in both Denmark and Greenland.
