Syrian actress Huda Shaarawi was found killed in her Damascus home on Thursday at the age of 87, in an incident that has shocked the Syrian public and artistic community.

According to initial information from security investigations and sources close to the matter, Shaarawi was the victim of a homicide. Preliminary findings point towards her maid as the primary suspect in the killing.

Syrian authorities have launched an extensive investigation to uncover the full circumstances and motives behind the crime. Reports indicate that the suspected maid fled the scene, and an intensive search is underway to locate and apprehend her.
