A series of diplomatic contacts on Sunday underscored renewed efforts to ease regional tensions. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed recent developments and de-escalation initiatives with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, while Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told U.S. President Donald Trump that dialogue remains essential to reducing tensions. Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the memorandum of understanding with the United States would serve as a cornerstone of Iran’s future foreign policy.

Saudi Arabia and Iran Discuss De-escalation

According to the Saudi Foreign Ministry, Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to review recent regional developments.

The two ministers discussed diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions, reflecting continued communication between Riyadh and Tehran on issues affecting regional stability.

Riyadh Reaffirms Commitment to Regional Stability

The Saudi Foreign Ministry said the Kingdom remains committed to supporting peace and stability across the region through diplomacy and dialogue.

Saudi Arabia reiterated its intention to continue playing a constructive regional role that serves the shared interests of countries and peoples throughout the Middle East.

Crown Prince Emphasizes Dialogue in Call with Trump

In a separate diplomatic contact, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke by phone with U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss regional developments and their international implications.

During the conversation, the Crown Prince stressed that dialogue should remain the preferred path toward reducing tensions and creating conditions for diplomatic solutions.

Continued Saudi-U.S. Coordination

The call highlighted ongoing coordination between Riyadh and Washington regarding regional security issues, with both sides focusing on diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.

Iran Places U.S. Memorandum at the Center of Foreign Policy

Separately, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the memorandum of understanding with the United States would become the central framework guiding Iran’s foreign relations in the future.

He added that Tehran should continue working to ensure Washington fully honors the commitments outlined in the agreement.

Tehran Signals Support for Diplomatic Engagement

Pezeshkian said the memorandum reflects the collective decision of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and enjoys broad institutional support.

His remarks suggest that Tehran intends to preserve the diplomatic track with Washington while broader regional de-escalation efforts continue.

Conclusion

The latest diplomatic contacts between Saudi Arabia, Iran and the United States point to a broader regional emphasis on dialogue amid ongoing tensions. While Riyadh continues to advocate diplomatic solutions and de-escalation, Tehran has reaffirmed the importance of its memorandum of understanding with Washington as a key pillar of its future foreign policy, signaling continued support for political engagement.
