Iraq’s Minister of Electricity, Ziyad Ali Fadhel, on Saturday directed all formations of the ministry to enter a state of full mobilization in preparation for expected weather conditions and rainfall, according to a statement from the Ministry of Electricity reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement noted that the minister instructed ministry teams to support the efforts of Baghdad Municipality and municipal departments across the provinces. He also emphasized exempting power feeders supplying rainwater pumping stations, sewage stations, hospitals, and health centers to ensure uninterrupted electricity to these vital facilities.
Fadhel further ordered all general managers, branch directors, sector heads, and maintenance centers to be present on the ground within their departments to monitor networks and feeders and respond promptly to citizens’ complaints. He also urged control centers to exert maximum effort to restore any disconnected lines to prevent water accumulation in the streets.
