Approximately 3,000 individuals were arrested during the recent wave of protests in Iran, according to a report on Friday by the Tasnim news agency, which cited security officials.
The Tasnim agency, known for its proximity to Iranian security forces, stated that the detainees included “armed individuals and rioters” as well as “members of terrorist organisations.”
This figure contrasts sharply with estimates from human rights organizations, which suggest that the number of people arrested could be as high as 20,000.
