French leader Emmanuel Macron met Xi Jinping in Beijing on Thursday, when he is expected to put pressure on the Chinese president to help secure a ceasefire in Ukraine, as well as discuss trade relations.
Macron and his wife Brigitte were met by Xi and his spouse Peng Liyuan inside the capital’s Great Hall of the People, an AFP journalist saw.
