Baghdad – Iraqi News Agency (INA)
The Baghdad Municipality announced on Friday that it will host a major celebration this evening in the capital to mark Iraq’s National Day, scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
Municipality spokesperson Adi Al-Jundeel told INA that the festivities will include fireworks displays across Baghdad districts through local municipal offices, along with national songs, the distribution of Iraqi flags, and sweets to citizens and security personnel at checkpoints.
He noted that the celebration aligns with the directives of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, who previously called for nationwide activities to highlight the significance of National Day as a symbol of unity and national identity.
According to the Prime Minister’s media office, the directives include raising the Iraqi flag in public spaces and organizing cultural and social events in all ministries, provinces, and Iraqi missions abroad.
