The General Traffic Directorate announced on Saturday the preparation of a comprehensive traffic plan ahead of the New Year holidays, aimed at organizing traffic flow and reducing congestion in Baghdad and across all provinces.
According to the directorate, the Director General of Traffic, Lieutenant General Adi Sameer Al-Hassani, chaired an expanded meeting attended by his deputies, the directors of Baghdad Traffic (Karkh and Rusafa), and heads of relevant departments. The meeting focused on developing traffic measures and solutions for high-density areas in the capital, in coordination with service-related institutions.
The plan covers highways, external roads, and city centers, in addition to organizing daily duties for traffic officers and personnel deployed in the field, ensuring smooth traffic management based on scientific and regulatory principles.
The meeting also discussed organizing the work of traffic sectors to facilitate vehicle movement and provide optimal services to all road users during the holiday period.
