The 68th Annual Grammy Awards are poised to be a landmark event, with superstars Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, and Lady Gaga competing for the music industry’s most prestigious honors this Sunday in Los Angeles.
Kendrick Lamar leads the field with nine nominations, followed closely by Lady Gaga with seven, and Bad Bunny with six. All three are contenders for the coveted Album of the Year award, a first-time win for any of them in this category. Lamar, a Pulitzer Prize-winning artist who has already secured 22 Grammys throughout his career, is nominated for his album “GNX” and its single “Luther.”
Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny is nominated for his album “Debi Tirar Mas Fotos.” A victory in the Album of the Year category would mark a historic achievement for a Spanish-language album. Last year, his album “Un verano sin ti” was the first Spanish-language record to be nominated for the top prize.
Lady Gaga returns to the forefront with her album “Mayhem.” With 14 Grammys to her name, a win for Album of the Year would complete her collection of the ceremony’s top three awards, having previously won for Record and Song of the Year.
