Iranian authorities have maintained a nationwide internet shutdown for over 108 hours, a measure activists believe is intended to conceal the extent of a crackdown on protests, according to the internet monitoring organization Netblocks.

In an update posted on Tuesday, Netblocks stated, “It has been 108 hours since Iran introduced a nationwide internet shutdown leaving Iranians isolated from the rest of the world and each other.” The prolonged blackout continues to raise concerns among rights groups about the situation within the country as information flow remains severely restricted.
