Election Commission: Judicial Authority Rejects 36 Appeals on Election Results

The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) announced on Wednesday that the Judicial Authority has rejected 36 appeals submitted against the election results, noting that 122 additional appeal responses have been completed so far.

IHEC spokesperson Jumana Al-Ghalay told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the commission had prepared responses for 406 appeals, which were sent as the first batch to the Judicial Authority for Elections. She added that 36 of these appeals were rejected.

Al-Ghalay clarified that the commission has completed responses for another 122 appeals, which will be forwarded to the Judicial Authority for review and adjudication. She noted that the total number of appeals for which responses have been prepared has reached 528 out of 872 submitted appeals.
