Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has accepted an invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump to join a ‘Board of Peace’.

In a statement, the ministry confirmed Egypt’s acceptance and its “commitment to fulfilling the relevant legal and constitutional procedures.” The statement also praised the U.S. President’s policies in the Middle East.

The ministry added that Egypt supports the board’s mission, which it identified as “the second phase of the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza.”
