Senior Iraqi and Iranian officials held a series of meetings in Tehran focused on strengthening bilateral relations and discussing regional developments, while emphasizing dialogue and diplomacy as key tools for ending conflicts and promoting stability across the Middle East.

Iraqi and Iranian Presidents Stress Dialogue to End Regional Conflicts

Iraqi President Nezar Amidi met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran, where both leaders reaffirmed the importance of strengthening the historic, social, and cultural ties between Iraq and Iran.

The two presidents also emphasized the need to end wars and reduce regional tensions through dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful solutions that support regional security, stability, and sustainable development.

Commitment to Expanding Bilateral Cooperation

President Pezeshkian expressed appreciation for the Iraqi people’s support during difficult times and reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Iraq across various sectors in pursuit of shared interests.

Parliament Speakers Discuss Regional and International Developments

In a separate meeting held on the sidelines of the official ceremonies in Tehran, Iraqi Parliament Speaker Haibat Al-Halbousi met with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

The talks focused on bilateral relations, regional and international developments, and several issues of mutual interest, highlighting continued political coordination between the two neighboring countries.

The parliamentary discussions reflected the ongoing commitment of Iraq and Iran to maintain dialogue and exchange views on regional challenges while strengthening cooperation on issues affecting both countries.
