The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported on Tuesday that it is facing an “unprecedented attack” after Israeli bulldozers began demolishing structures within its headquarters in east Jerusalem.
According to a statement provided to AFP by UNRWA spokesman Jonathan Fowler, Israeli forces “stormed into” the compound at approximately 7:00 AM (0500 GMT).
“This is an unprecedented attack against UNRWA and its premises,” Fowler stated. “And it also constitutes a serious violation of international law and the privileges and immunities of the United Nations.”
