An explosion in the Shahr-e-Naw area of central Kabul on Monday has killed at least seven people.
The Italian non-governmental organization, EMERGENCY, which operates a surgical center in the Afghan capital, confirmed the casualties in a statement.
“Twenty people have been received at EMERGENCY’s Surgical Centre in Kabul following an explosion this afternoon in the Shahr-e-Naw area, near the hospital,” the statement read. “Among those received were seven people dead on arrival.”
No further details on the cause of the explosion have been provided at this time.
