Amid ongoing Iran protests, Turkey’s Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, called on Thursday for a resolution through dialogue.
Speaking to journalists in Istanbul, Fidan addressed the crisis in Iran, where nationwide protests have reportedly resulted in the killing of thousands, according to rights organizations, and have drawn warnings from the United States directed at Tehran.
“We absolutely want problems to be resolved through dialogue,” Fidan stated. “Hopefully, the United States and Iran will resolve this issue among themselves — whether through mediators, other actors, or direct dialogue. We are closely following these developments.”
