Turkey’s foreign minister said on Saturday that Hamas’s disarmament cannot be the main priority in Gaza, as mediators seek to implement the second stage of a peace deal for the Palestinian territory.
“That cannot be the first thing to do in the process, the disarming. We need to put things in (their) proper order, we have to be realistic,” Hakan Fidan responded when asked about the disarmament of the militant group, which Hamas has said it will not allow.
