Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi told AFP Friday that US President Donald Trump’s Gaza ceasefire proposal was “vague” and “ambiguous”, shortly after the Islamist Palestinian movement offered a response to the plan.
“The American proposal is vague, ambiguous, and lacks clarity”, and would require further negotiations with mediators, Mardawi said.
In its response to the Trump plan, Hamas said it was ready to free the hostages it holds, but did not address the issue of its disarmament, which the proposal calls for.
