Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk speaks to the press as he, the German Chancellor, French and Moldova's Presidents gather to celebrate the country's 34th independence day, and as Moldova pushes for EU membership, in Chisinau, on August 27, 2025. The leaders of France, Germany and Poland met on August 27, show of support, a day before campaigning starts for next month's tense parliamentary election amid claims of Russian interference in the pro-EU nation bordering Ukraine. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Wednesday that the NATO and EU member identified 19 violations of its airspace overnight and shot down at least three “Russian” drones.

“Nineteen violations were identified and precisely tracked… At the moment we have confirmation that three drones were shot down… We have no information suggesting that anyone was injured or died as a result of the Russian action,” Tusk told parliament.
