Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that the recent recognition of the State of Palestine by several Western countries “does not obligate Israel in any way”.

“The shameful capitulation of some leaders to Palestinian terror does not obligate Israel in any way. There will be no Palestinian state”, Netanyahu’s office said in a statement, after six European countries including France and Belgium announced on Monday their formal recognition of a Palestinian state.
