MSF says given until November 9 to leave Libya

US nurse and medical focal point member of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) on board Tim Harrison, poses for a portrait at the hospital room at the Aquarius rescue vessel, chartered by French NGO SOS-Mediterranee and Doctors Without Borders (MSF), on the open sea between Italy and Tunisia, on June 27, 2018. They rescued 630 migrants from Libya, wandering seven days in the Mediterranean in search of a port that agreed to host the Aquarius before berthing in Valencia: members of the crew of Aquarius have confided to AFP the penalties but also the joys of their mission. Answering a question on a memory of his nine months on board: 'I have been on the boat over nine month. I have a lot of memories of the ship, but one I will never forget, it's pulling a drowned man out of the sea. I can see his face, I can see the colour of the shirt. We took up in the rib. We save his life and he is alive and working today, somewhere in this world, hopefully, still.' (Photo by PAU BARRENA / AFP)

The medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said Wednesday it had been ordered to leave Libya by November 9, having already been forced to suspend its activities in March.

“No reason has been given to justify our expulsion,” Steve Purbrick, who heads up MSF’s programmes in Libya, said in a statement.
