Ministry of Labor Launches September Social Assistance Payment

An employee arranges stacks of Iraqi dinars at currency exchange shop in Baghdad on February 14, 2023. Iraq nudged up the value of its local currency against the dollar in an effort to stabilise the dinar after tougher foreign transfer regulations sent its value fluctuating. The government adopted a new official exchange rate, fixing it at 1,300 dinars to the US dollar instead of 1,470, the prime minister's office said. (Photo by Murtaja LATEEF / AFP)

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced on Monday the release of the September social assistance payment.

Head of the Social Protection Authority, Ahmed Al-Mousawi, said in a statement that the payment covers more than 2.088 million families across all provinces, with a total amount exceeding 449 billion Iraqi dinars.

He explained that families headed by men accounted for over 1.512 million households with allocations surpassing 362 billion dinars, while more than 576,000 households headed by women received over 87 billion dinars.

Al-Mousawi called on beneficiaries to visit the authorized outlets to collect their allocated payments.
