The Iraqi Meteorological Authority announced on Wednesday its weather forecast for the coming days, expecting rising dust and temperatures in the 30s across all provinces.
According to a statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Thursday’s weather will be clear with some clouds over the northern highlands, accompanied by a slight drop in temperatures nationwide.
The expected high temperatures for Thursday are:
Duhok & Sulaymaniyah: 30°C
Erbil: 31°C
Nineveh, Kirkuk, Salah al-Din, Anbar: 34°C
Baghdad & Diyala: 35°C
Karbala, Wasit, Babil, Diwaniyah, Najaf: 36°C
Dhi Qar & Muthanna: 37°C
Maysan & Basra: 38°C
The authority noted that Friday’s weather will remain clear with similar temperatures, while Saturday will also be mostly clear with some clouds over the northern highlands.
On Sunday, conditions are expected to stay clear with northwesterly winds (10–20 km/h) occasionally causing light dust in some areas. Temperatures will rise slightly, with horizontal visibility ranging between 6–8 km, dropping to 2–4 km in dusty conditions.
