The Joint Operations Command issued a statement on Thursday regarding recent aircraft activity over Baghdad, confirming that the flights are part of preparatory exercises carried out by the Iraqi Air Force and Army Aviation in anticipation of Iraq’s National Day celebrations.

According to the statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Ministry of Defense, represented by the Air Force and Army Aviation, is preparing to hold a special aerial parade over the capital on Friday, October 3, as part of nationwide celebrations marking Iraq’s National Day.

The Command explained that “the aircraft movements observed in Baghdad’s skies are training maneuvers conducted by the brave pilots of the Air Force and Army Aviation, in preparation for the upcoming aerial display.” It added that these activities “reflect national pride and the readiness of Iraq’s military institutions to celebrate sovereignty, unity, and independence.”

The Joint Operations Command also called on citizens to engage positively with this national occasion, either by attending the celebrations or following them through official channels.
