Israel urges world to stop Iran ever getting nuclear bomb

The United Nations Security Council holds a meeting on Iran at UN headquarters on September 19, 2025, in New York. The UN Security Council voted on Friday to reimpose sanctions against Iran after Britain, France and Germany accused Tehran of violating a landmark agreement on managing its nuclear activities. "We urge (Iran) to act now," said British ambassador Barbara Woodward after casting a vote against a resolution that would have extended the current suspension of the sanctions. Israel’s foreign minister called on the world on Friday to prevent arch foe Iran from ever acquiring nuclear weapons, after the UN Security Council voted to reimpose sanctions against Tehran.

“A nuclear-armed Iran would mean that the most dangerous regime possesses the most dangerous weapon, dramatically undermining global stability and security. The international community’s goal must remain unchanged: to prevent Iran from ever acquiring nuclear capabilities,” Gideon Saar posted on X.

The UN Security Council voted to reimpose sanctions against Iran at the request of Britain, France and Germany after they accused it of violating the terms of the landmark 2015 deal that suspended them in return for restrictions on its nuclear activities.
