An Israeli delegation was in Cairo on Thursday to discuss efforts for the return of the last Gaza hostage’s remains under the US-brokered ceasefire deal, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in a statement.
“Under the direction of Prime Minister Netanyahu, a delegation left for Cairo this morning… which held talks with the mediators with the aim of securing the immediate return of the last abductee,” the office said in a statement.
After the remains of a hostage Thai worker were returned to Israel Wednesday evening, Israeli authorities vowed to work “ceaselessly” to obtain the release of Ran Gvili, an officer in an elite police unit.
