The Iraqi Meteorological Authority announced on Thursday the weather forecast for the coming days, expecting rain and thunderstorms to continue across various parts of the country until Sunday.
According to a statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Friday’s weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. Winds will be southeasterly moderate, becoming active in western regions and causing dust, while temperatures will remain similar to the previous day across most provinces.
The statement noted that the maximum temperatures for Friday are expected to be as follows:
Baghdad, Karbala, Babil, Najaf, Wasit, and Diwaniyah – 29°C
Diyala and Anbar – 28°C
Salah al-Din, Kirkuk, and Nineveh – 27°C
Duhok and Erbil – 25°C
Sulaymaniyah – 22°C
Maysan, Dhi Qar, and Muthanna – 30°C
and Basra – 31°C.
The authority added that Saturday’s weather will remain partly cloudy to cloudy with light to moderate thunderstorms in several regions. Winds will stay southeasterly moderate, reaching speeds of over 30 km/h, while temperatures are expected to drop across the country.
On Sunday, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with thunderstorms in the northern region, while the central and southern regions will experience partly cloudy skies. Winds will be light and variable, with temperatures remaining stable in the center and south, and slightly rising in the north.
For Monday, the forecast indicates clear to partly cloudy weather, with light variable winds and temperatures similar to the previous day.
