Iraq Weather: Temperatures Set to Rise Again

The Iraqi Meteorological Organization and Seismology announced on Wednesday the country’s weather forecast for the coming days, predicting another rise in temperatures starting Thursday.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the authority said that “Thursday’s weather will be clear with some clouds, while temperatures will rise slightly in central Iraq and remain similar to the previous day in the northern and southern regions.”

The statement added that the expected maximum temperatures for Thursday are as follows: Sulaymaniyah and Erbil 26°C, Duhok 27°C, Nineveh and Kirkuk 32°C, Anbar and Salah al-Din 33°C, Diyala 34°C, Baghdad, Babil, Karbala, and Diwaniyah 35°C, Najaf, Muthanna, and Wasit 36°C, Dhi Qar and Basra 38°C, and Maysan 39°C.

The report noted that “Friday’s weather will be mostly clear to partly cloudy, with temperatures remaining similar to the previous day.”

As for Saturday, “the weather will be clear with some clouds over the northern region, with no significant change in temperature,” while “Sunday will see clear skies with some clouds in the north, and a slight drop in temperatures across central Iraq.”
