Baghdad – Iraqi News Agency (INA)
The Iraqi Meteorological Authority announced on Monday the country’s weather forecast for the coming days, predicting continued dust storms and fluctuating temperatures.

According to the statement, Tuesday’s weather will be clear with northwesterly winds at light to moderate speeds (10–20 km/h), becoming active during the day in the eastern parts of the southern region, causing dust to rise. Temperatures will remain similar to the previous day, while horizontal visibility will range between 6–8 km, dropping to 3–5 km in dusty conditions.

The forecast listed Tuesday’s maximum temperatures as follows: Duhok 34°C, Sulaymaniyah 35°C, Erbil 37°C, Nineveh 38°C, Salah al-Din and Anbar 39°C, Diyala 40°C, Kirkuk 41°C, Baghdad, Karbala, and Babil 42°C, Najaf and Wasit 43°C, while Diwaniyah, Maysan, Dhi Qar, Muthanna, and Basra will record highs of 44°C.

On Wednesday, the weather will be mostly clear to partly cloudy in the western parts of central Iraq, with a slight rise in temperatures across the country. Thursday’s forecast indicates clear skies with some clouds in the central and northern regions, accompanied by northwesterly winds shifting to southeasterly at moderate speeds (20–30 km/h), causing dust storms in the central and southern regions. A slight temperature drop is also expected, with visibility ranging from 6–8 km and falling to 1–3 km in dusty areas.

The authority concluded by noting that Friday’s weather will remain clear, with another slight decrease in temperatures.
