Baghdad – Iraqi News Agency (INA)

The Iraqi Meteorological Authority announced on Tuesday the weather forecast for the coming days across the country, expecting rising dust levels and a gradual drop in temperatures.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the authority said, “The weather on Wednesday will be clear, with temperatures remaining close to those recorded today.”

It added that maximum temperatures are expected to reach 33°C in Sulaymaniyah and Duhok, 34°C in Erbil, 35°C in Anbar, 36°C in Nineveh, 37°C in Salah al-Din, 39°C in Baghdad, Diyala, and Babylon, 40°C in Karbala, Wasit, and Muthanna, and 41°C in Najaf, Diwaniyah, Maysan, Dhi Qar, and Basra.

The statement continued, “Thursday’s weather will remain clear, with northwesterly winds ranging between 10–20 km/h, occasionally becoming active in some central and southern areas, causing light local dust.” The authority noted that temperatures will slightly decrease in the central and northern regions, while remaining similar in the south.

It also indicated that horizontal visibility will range between 8–10 km, dropping to 5–7 km in dusty areas, adding that “the weather on Friday and Saturday will remain clear, accompanied by a further decrease in temperatures across Iraq.”
