Iran says nuclear talks with European powers chance to 'correct' their stance

Delegations arrive to the Iranian Consulate, where Iranian diplomats are expected to meet counterparts from Germany, Britain and France for renewed nuclear talks, amid warnings that the three European powers could trigger "snapback" sanctions outlined under the 2015 deal, in Istanbul, Turkey, on July 25, 2025. The meeting will be the first since Israel's mid-June attack on Iran, which sparked a 12-day war and targeted key nuclear and military sites. (Photo by Yasin AKGUL / AFP)

Iran said Friday that its meeting with Germany, Britain and France would be an opportunity for them to “correct” their stance on Tehran’s nuclear program, ahead of talks with the three European powers.

Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei called Friday’s meeting in Istanbul a “test of realism for the Europeans and a valuable opportunity to correct their views on Iran’s nuclear issue,” in remarks to the official IRNA news agency.
