The G7 on Wednesday condemned surging violence in Sudan, saying the conflict between the African nation’s army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces had triggered “the world’s largest humanitarian crisis.”

“We strongly condemned the recent escalation of violence,” Group of Seven foreign ministers said in a joint statement as they concluded a meeting in Canada, raising specific concern about acts of sexual violence in war-ravaged Sudan.
