China on Tuesday said it welcomed the ceasefire agreement reached by Thailand and Cambodia, after leaders from the two countries agreed to a truce which ended five days of combat.
“The ceasefire consensus reached by Cambodia and Thailand marks an important step toward de-escalating the situation and China expresses its appreciation and welcome,” foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said.
