Chanel unveiled an elegant and understated haute couture collection on Tuesday at the Grand Palais, in what marks the French fashion house’s final runway show before the new artistic director, Matthieu Blazy, takes over future presentations.

For the Fall-Winter 2025–2026 season, the French fashion house refocuses on classic winter pieces, using its iconic tweed fabric — this time appearing in dresses of varying lengths, long coats, and suits featuring low-rise skirts and pants embellished with sequins, feathers, and pearls.

A statement from the house noted that “the proportions of the designs, inspired by men’s wardrobes, ensure full freedom of movement for the body.”

This new collection blends light dresses and skirts made of silk or sheer fabrics (voile) with multiple layers, as well as long open skirts worn over short ones, or even wide belts with pockets. The designs showcased a palette of black, beige, and white, paired with thigh-high boots featuring rounded toes.

The show concluded with the traditional bridal look — a white dress with long sleeves, adorned with sequins.

Among the guests attending the fashion show were actresses Marion Cotillard, Carole Bouquet, Penélope Cruz, and Kirsten Dunst, along with pop singers Lorde and Gracie Abrams.

The next Chanel collection, which will be presented in October during Paris Women’s Fashion Week, will be designed by Matthieu Blazy, who was appointed as the house’s artistic director last December, six months after Virginie Viard’s sudden resignation.
