The Rafah crossing, a vital link between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, has reopened on Monday, allowing for the movement of a limited number of people in both directions. Egyptian border officials confirmed that 150 Palestinians are scheduled to exit Gaza into Egypt.

This group includes 50 patients who will be accompanied by two companions each, facilitating their access to medical care outside the territory. In addition, 50 other Palestinians will be permitted to enter the Gaza Strip.

The head of the Palestinian committee for Gaza described the reopening as a “window of hope” for residents of the territory.

Operations at the border are expected to conclude by 3:00 pm local time (1300 GMT), according to Egyptian officials.

The Rafah crossing has reopened today, Monday, providing essential passage for a limited number of individuals traveling between Gaza and Egypt. According to Egyptian officials, the border will facilitate the exit of 150 Palestinians, a group that notably includes 50 patients requiring medical treatment abroad.

This reopening of the Rafah crossing is a significant development, described by a Palestinian official as a “window of hope.” While 150 people exit, another 50 will be allowed to enter the Gaza Strip. The crossing is scheduled to operate for a limited time on Monday.
