US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Malaysia on Thursday, bringing the war in Ukraine to the sidelines of ASEAN talks focused on Washington’s tariff drive.
The two top diplomats went into the meeting at a regional conference of Southeast Asian states in Kuala Lumpur, AFP reporters saw, hours after Moscow unleashed its second major attack on Ukraine in as many days.
