The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities announced on Sunday that Iraq has joined the “ArabTrips” platform, a regional tourism initiative aimed at enhancing Iraq’s international tourism presence.

Ali Yassin, Director of International Relations and the official spokesperson for the Tourism Board, said that “the ArabTrips platform was launched by the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism during the 52nd session of the Middle East Committee held in Doha, under the patronage of the United Nations Tourism Organization.”

He explained that the platform highlights diverse tourist attractions — archaeological, cultural, heritage, and religious sites — in addition to showcasing licensed travel agencies, hotels of various classifications, and tourism programs designed to meet visitor needs. It also serves as a marketing tool to promote Iraq’s tourism destinations.

Yassin added that the Tourism Board has updated its promotional materials and printed the Baghdad Tourism File in both Arabic and English. Copies were distributed to delegations participating in the Baghdad Summit, while English versions were shared with embassies inside and outside the country.

He noted that these efforts are part of a broader strategy to strengthen Iraq’s participation in major international tourism fairs in London, Berlin, and Madrid, emphasizing that “the results are already visible through the increasing number of foreign visitors, which contributes to economic growth, job creation, and the inflow of hard currency.”
