Qatar PM says ready 'to continue engaging in efforts to end war in Gaza'

This handout image provided by Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs shows Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani chairing a preparatory meeting in Doha on September 14, 2025, ahead of an Arab Islamic summit. Al Thani urged the international community on September 14 to "stop using double standards" and punish Israel for what he described as its "crimes", during a preparatory meeting on the eve of an emergency summit of Arab and Islamic leaders organised by Qatar after Israel carried out an unprecedented air strike on Hamas leaders in Doha. Gaza mediator Qatar said on Monday said it was ready to press for a truce in the Palestinian territory following an Israeli apology for its unprecedented strike on Doha earlier this month.

Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani had voiced “Qatar’s readiness to continue engaging in efforts to end the war in Gaza within the framework of the US President’s initiative,” during a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump, the Gulf state’s foreign ministry said in a statement.
