Iraq drug trafficking network Fallujah operations led to the arrest of multiple suspects and the seizure of narcotics in two separate security operations announced on Monday. Iraqi forces reported dismantling a trafficking cell in Fallujah and arresting a suspected major dealer in possession of large quantities of hashish.<\/p>\n
The operations are part of ongoing efforts by Iraqi authorities to curb drug trafficking and distribution across the country.<\/p>\n
According to a statement from the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), a joint force from the Intelligence Directorate of Brigade 27 and the Second Special Tasks Regiment, with support from other security agencies, dismantled a drug trafficking network composed of three individuals.<\/p>\n
The force seized approximately 2,000 captagon pills that were in the possession of the suspects.<\/p>\n
The PMF said the operation was carried out in two stages:<\/p>\n
First stage: Two suspects were arrested on the Fallujah\u2013Tharthar road.
\nSecond stage: Based on their confessions, a third suspect was arrested at a security checkpoint at the entrance to Saqlawiyah district, east of Fallujah in Anbar province.<\/p>\n
In a separate operation, Iraq\u2019s General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs announced the arrest of a suspected high-level drug trafficker.<\/p>\n
Authorities seized 29 kilograms of hashish during the operation.<\/p>\n
The directorate said the operation was based on precise intelligence work conducted by special investigations and surveillance units. Judicial approval was obtained prior to execution.<\/p>\n
Security forces tracked the suspect using modern techniques, including GPS monitoring, and arrested him in the act while attempting to receive the drug shipment.<\/p>\n
Iraqi authorities emphasized that such operations are part of broader efforts to dismantle trafficking networks and prevent the spread of narcotics.<\/p>\n
