Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Saturday it will take firm action against vessels that do not follow designated routes in the Strait of Hormuz, amid tightened control over maritime traffic in the strategic waterway.<\/p>\n
The warning comes as Tehran also announced upcoming talks with Oman on the future management of the Strait.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the IRGC said that some vessels have sought permits from Iran to transit the Strait after unauthorized ships were met with warning fire.<\/p>\n
The statement added that Iranian navigation rules remain in effect and stressed that all vessels must comply with them.<\/p>\n
